22nd International West Kent Run
February Update (1.2.06)
(Archive of past Updates)

The website has now been fully updated. Some unavoidable price rises have had to be made.

Entry confirmation on the website

I am always trying to save time and money and, to save on postage and on sending out emails, there is a page showing entries received so far.  If your name is on it I have, obviously, received your entry.  Please use the website and email for communication where possible.

50 entries already !

Last month I said that 2006 is going to be a good one.  I was not wrong !  We have had 50 entries already and amongst them you will see some rare and interesting bikes.  It is especially good to see 3 pre-1920 bikes already and 19 out of 50 entries are pre-1940.  We are especially keen to encourage early bikes.  If you have, or a friend has an early machine please consider riding it. You will be guaranteed an entry.  The event is entirely suitable for very early or small capacity machines.

Overseas entries received

I have already received a number of overseas entries.  The number of German riders already exceeds our previous record and that was set when the event was still at Avery Hill !   I am still hoping for entries from our friends in the Moto Club Piston in northern Spain and there has been interest from the Czech Republic.  I have contacted dozens of overseas Clubs and remain hopeful that my efforts will be repaid with a huge overseas entry to celebrate the VMCC Diamond Jubilee.  If you have any contacts in GB or overseas that you would like me to invite, please let me know.

Send us a photo for the website

Colin Adamson attached a photo of his BSA B31 to his entry form.  It gave me the idea to begin a new photo gallery of entrants' bikes.  If you have a good quality photo of your bike that you would like me to post on the website please send it to me.  You can attach it with your entry form or send it as a jpeg file by email.  I'll try to use them all and get them loaded as soon as I can.

Print a form for a friend

If you have visited the West Kent Run and enjoyed it, you must know someone else who would enjoy it too.  Print off a form for them and help to spread the news about the event.  You know that the event attracts with riders year after year but there is always space for new friends to join in.

If you have suggestion for events or features - riding or social - that you would like us to consider, to add to the programme, please let us know.  Your feedback is important to us in trying to create a weekend everyone can enjoy.

Best wishes Alan Abrahams and the West Kent Run Committee
