What a fabulous weekend !
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the 25th West Kent Run such a success.
Thanks especially to the team who helped to prepare and clear the fields.
We should also thank the staff at The Friars. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they make it very easy for us to organise the event.
I thought that the bands on Friday and Saturday evening did a really good job.
450 motorcycles began the Run and only 5 came back in the recovery truck.
Thank you for telling us how much you enjoyed the weekend we appreciate all your kind comments. We hope that there will be a good report in the VMCC Journal with lots of pictures. If you are not already a member visit the Club website www.vmcc.net and join us. 16000 enthusiasts can't all be wrong.
I have updated the website entry form and other details. I shall accept entries now at the 2009 prices. The new tariff will be decided in February. I would like to encourage more early bikes especially.
Can you help ? The Committee wants to try to share out some of the smaller jobs and we need more helpers. Think about ways you could help. Can you organise the Thursday evening Barbecue ? Can you take control of the signing-on and off ? Could you be responsible for selling the T-shirts over the weekend ?
There are lots of small jobs that could be taken on by individuals or small groups that would help to make the weekend run more smoothly. Please think about it. You can talk to any of the Committee members about these or any other ideas. With your help we can make the event even better for all our participants.
I have received an email from a Belgian rider who is keen to join us, which is great news because we have had no Belgian riders for many years.
