24th International West Kent Run
April Update (24th March 2008)
(Archive of past Updates)

Entries are coming in steadily and we now have over 130 confirmed entries.  This past month has been notable for the number of vintage motorcycles entered.  I have just processed the entries for  1929 Rudge, 1925 Raleigh, 1929 BSA, a 1922 Raleigh, 1923 Douglas, 1923 Sunbeam, 1926 James V-twin, 1924 Blackburne Special, and a 1924 Levis two stroke.
It is important that we have a range of entries from the very earliest years through to the Club's eligibility limit of 1983.  When we are out on the road and when the bikes are on display at the coffee and lunch stops or on the field on Sunday, the public loves to see the variety of machines that the event attracts.

We also have a number of new overseas entrants and we shall look forward to welcoming them in August.  A party of seven riders from Holland all hope to arrive with pre-war models including DKW and Norton.

The website and email continue to attract regular use.  I try to check the email everyday.  If there is a delay it is because I check at work.  I do not always have to hand the information that is requested, however.  My reply has to wait until I am able to work from home.

Overseas visitors
The pound is at its weakest value EVER against the euro.  On Monday 17th March it was trading at 77 pence to the euro - 10 pence up on last year !  This year is the year to come and join us.

Best Wishes from Alan Abrahams and the West Kent Run Committee.
