Aylesford is a beautiful village, only 2 miles from the centre of Maidstone. The Friary is only 150 metres from the church you see in the picture.  The River Medway is in the foreground and you can see the terrace of the Chequers pub.

In Aylesford

• Railway Station.  Trains to Maidstone Barracks (walk to Maidstone East Station for fast trains to London) and to Maidstone West Station (for Maidstone High Street).

• Bus service (Arriva Service 155) Aylesford to Maidstone or to Rochester / Chatham. The bus passes the entrance to The Friars. There is one bus an hour (Mon - Fri), every 1½ hours (Saturday) and every 2 hours on Sunday.

Near Aylesford

• Eccles - (the next village.  Turn left as you leave the Friars)

  • Two pubs.  The Red Bull (food) and The Walnut Tree (no food).

   

• Sainsbury's (supermarket),  Halford's (car, caravan and camping supplies) and Homebase (tools etc) On the A20 only one mile from the Friars.

• Petrol is available from Sainsbury's supermarket.

• Fish and chip shops on the A20 near the Ditton crossroads (one and a half miles from the Friars).
